What is accent removal used for?

Removing accents from text is a common operation in many technical and editorial contexts. This tool converts accented characters (é, à, ù, ç, ô, ï...) into their unaccented equivalents (e, a, u, c, o, i...).

Common use cases

Note: Only diacritical marks (accents, umlauts, cedillas...) are removed. Other characters, including spaces, punctuation and digits, remain intact.
