This tip calculator helps you easily calculate the tip amount to leave at restaurants and split the bill among diners. You can calculate the tip either as a fixed amount (euros) or as a percentage of the bill.

How much tip to give?

• France: Tipping is not mandatory as service is included. However, it's common to leave 5 to 10% for good service.
• United States: Tipping is almost mandatory, typically 15 to 20% minimum of the pre-tax bill.
• United Kingdom: 10 to 15% is standard in restaurants if service is not included.
• Germany: 5 to 10% is usual, often rounded up to the next amount.
• Italy: The "coperto" (cover charge) is often included, but 5 to 10% is still appreciated.
• Japan: Tipping is not practiced and may even be considered rude.
